Lauren + Matt – Molly Pitcher Wedding
What a wonderful way to close 2016! Lauren & Matt live in D.C. so we didn’t get to meet in person until about a month before the wedding. As soon as I met them and saw Lauren’s adorable dimples and the way they looked at each other, I knew it was going to be a special day. The real test started with Lauren getting ready…as she tried to cut the hanger strap from her gorgeous gown before she got dressed, she accidentally cut the actual strap of the dress-oops! While this moment could be extremely stress inducing for many brides Lauren barely flinched. Her mom had come prepared with an extensive sewing kit, one of her bridesmaids turned out to be an expert seamstress, and Lauren’s mother & sister both agreed this type of thing was to be expected-ha! After the dress was repaired, Lauren & Matt had a private first look on the balcony of their Oyster Point suite, then we met family in the lobby of The Molly Pitcher for photos. After that, the wedding party headed to Riverside Gardens Park to brave the cold (it wasn’t that bad!). Then it was off the Christ Church in Middletown where Lauren’s grandparents were married over 60 years before! After they were officially hitched, it was off to The Molly Pitcher for the par-tay! Lauren & Matt were excited to have Brian Kirk & The Jirks performing at their reception (as most couples are!) but I swear they were extra rockin this night. After a few heartfelt toasts, the dancing didn’t stop, including when Matt serenaded his bride with two songs, to the surprise and delight of family and friends! All in all, it was a wonderful day to be a part of, congrats Lauren & Matt! Thanks for having us ❤️
